Additional Comments:

Full Moon BBQ recently opened in Dothan.  I’ve heard some really wonderful things about it so our family went for dinner/supper.  Our ticket time was 4:51pm and we were walking out at 5:20pm.  It wasn’t too busy but it was steady.
There are several large screens TV’s and a TON of sports memorabilia.  The restaurant was very clean.  The floors were free of trash and even crumbs.  The tables were wiped down and set up neatly.
We thought this was the type of restaurant that a server took your order and delivered your food.  It’s not.  It’s a little chaotic when you first arrive if you’ve never been.  The menu is a huge board over the registers with a window that opens up to the kitchen.  You can ask for a menu to look at and it’s a little easier.  It’s like a burger place or Goldfingers (as far as the ordering goes).   I wasn’t fond of that because I heard cussing from the kitchen.  Nothing major but still not what I want to here when I’m with my kids.
Josh ordered a BBQ pork sandwich with chow-chow on the side and a side of fries (nothing came with it so we were charged for the fries, $2.69).  When delivered, the chow-chow was on the sandwich and he didn’t have any fries.  Quick fix.  Ethan got a kids BBQ pork sandwich without sauce and a side of fried okra.  Emily got a plain cheeseburger with ketchup and a side of fries.  I got the BBQ pork sandwich with a side of cole slaw (mine didn’t come with anything either so we were charged $2.69).  The cole slaw took some getting used to.  I would say by the last bite that I liked it but certainly not what I’m used to.  However, their menu says it’s one of the Top 100 foods to eat in Alabama.  The Half Moon Cookie was tasty…..at least the crumb the kids were willing to share with me.
Some things I didn’t like: I didn’t like that you had to take your cup up to the register to get a refill.  They have a side station for ice, napkins, straws, lids but no drink refills.  Put a drink station there so the staff doesn’t have to be bothered with it.  After you order they tell you your order number and they will bring it to you.  When your order is ready, the staff walks around the restaurant calling out numbers, waiting for people to answer.  During lunch or on the weekends, doesn’t that get hectic?
Overall, we enjoyed our visit.  Josh and I both agree we like the taste of the BBQ Shack better.  I’m not sure what the price difference is between the two.  Full Moon has a more extensive menu for people that are with you that might not want bbq.  End result….we would go back for another visit.  I wish Full Moon the best of luck and hope they do well!  Southerners are very particular about their bbq!!!

I LOATHE dill pickles.  There were two on top of my sandwich. This is the soggy from them.
